Auro Scholar is a nation-wide micro scholarship program with a focus on encouraging school students in India to improve their learning levels. Auro Scholar incentivizes learning through monthly micro scholarships that acts as a learning nudge for the students. Through this micro scholarship program, Indian students of Grade 6-12 are motivated to take the mobile-based quizzes and win micro scholarships. This educational app helps students achieve better learning outcomes & decrease any learning gaps besides engaging parents and teachers in helping students achieve the level.

An initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society, Auro Scholar enables secondary school students to access learning resources and also empowered the parents to utilize the scholarship amount earned by the students to pay for learning options.

Auro Scholar app helps teachers to mentor the students better and solve their problems more efficiently. When Indian students take mobile-based quizzes each month, this e-learning application generates learning reports about them. This report contains areas of improvement and recommendations. Teachers and parents can use this analytics report to help students enhance their academic performance.

How It Works:
The Auro Scholar Scholarship app works as follows:
Teachers’ Orientation: This program works with thousands of school teachers who are oriented about Auro Scholar programme through online webinars.

Online Invitations for Students: Then the teachers register with Auro Scholar programme. They send invitations to students to join Auro Scholar online.

Mobile Quizzes: Once students accept the invitation and register at the app, they attempt curriculum-aligned 10 min quizzes on a mobile phone. Students can attempt the quizzes at their preferred time right from the comfort of their homes.

Each quiz comprises 10 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and students can take a maximum of 4 Quizzes per month for each of the 5 Subjects (English, Maths, Science, Social Science, Native Language).

Students Win Scholarships: Students attempt the quiz and if they achieve target performance (80%), they receive INR 50 per month scholarship. For successfully attempting each quiz the students get INR 50 and each student can receive a maximum of INR 1,000 per month for the quizzes they attempt. The amount is transferred into their mobile wallets.

Students Re-take The Quizzes: If a student does not achieve the set target performance, he or she can study harder and can then re-take the Quiz for 2 times in a month and win the Auro Scholar scholarship.

Student Learning Analytics: Based on the multiple quizzes taken by students, Auro Scholar app generates learning reports of the students. These reports highlight students’ areas of improvement. These learning reports are made available to students, teachers and parents who use these reports to help the students.

Schools Receive Student Learning Analytics: Learning analytics data of each Student is updated in real time into the Learning Management System (LMS) being used at school level, district level or state level.

Teachers Conduct Student Motivational Sessions: Monthly webinars or school meetings are conducted where students are motivated to enhance their performance. Students are also encouraged to participate in peer to peer discussions or address their doubts during the webinars.

Felicitation of Students and Teachers: The teachers and students (who win scholarships) are awarded by Sri Aurobindo Society at district, state and National level.
