A UNIFORM WAY TO USE EVERY SET:
Each set is arranged on the screen on a "checkered sheet".
You can move in any direction with the Left Joystick. You can also zoom in or out with the Right Joystick.
Each element from the set can be "dragged" onto the screen any number of times - you are limited only by the size of the "checkered sheet " and your imagination.
Each element can be:
- rotated,
- dragged to another place,
- checked or unchecked,
- deleted.
The colours can be changed many times in the "Mosaics" collection.
The rods from the "All Together" set can be changed in the number presentation mode - fractions/decimals/percentages.
The rods from the "Decimals" set can be put on top of each other to obtain the effect of "eating a positive number by a negative number". The rods representing negative numbers are slightly transparent - so that you can see through them how much of the positive number has been "eaten".
If you think that something is missing or should have some additional functionality - let me know by e-mail.
I have intentionally not implemented the automatic calculation mechanism - showing the Student the current result of his operation - in my opinion it would be a didactic error. This is because he or she can learn this result on his own, cleverly using the remaining blocks - the teacher/parent only has to show him how to do it. The student will learn only when he comes to the result on his own.
I admit that I was very tempted to include the mechanism of changing the numerator and denominator "on demand" in sets containing fractions, so that the Student could reduce the fractions to a common denominator. However, I came to the conclusion that it would be unnecessary at this stage of learning. This functionality is included in my game "Gold Bar Thieves", which under the guise of a game tries to smuggle in the teaching of adding and subtracting fractions.
I wish you effective/enjoyable learning/fun.
