With the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Shrimati Mamata Banerjee has announced the provision of aid to migrant labourers and their families stranded in other states. She and her Government have announced the Sneher Paras Scheme under which migrants can apply for relief amounting upto INR 1000/- per applicant.
Applicant's can easily apply for the Sneher Paras scheme via the Sneher Paras app. This app is available in English and Bengali. The applicant needs to have a valid mobile number, an active bank account in India and must have an Aadhaar Card or Khadhyasathi Number for proof of identity.
The Government of West Bengal has announced this scheme to help migrants stuck outside of the state due to the recent outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic. Those migrants who have been suspended and cannot return home due to lack of proper transportation are eligible to apply for the Sneher Paras app.
The Government of West Bengal will provide an aid amounting to INR 1,000 per applicant upon the correct completion of the application. The application period is from 20th April, 2020 to 3rd May, 2020.
