Why Class Saathi?
The central idea of this app is to motivate and help students continuously learn by solving multiple choice questions generated by a personalized recommendation engine. All the questions on Class Saathi app are prepared by IIT students. Even the product owner of Class Saathi is an IIT Kanpur graduate.

The makers of Class Saathi have 2 core beliefs -
1. Education is a capability multiplier and can serve as a powerful engine of growth for any nation.
2. Technology can help improve education. That said, we believe that instead of deploying expensive and infra-heavy technologies in schools, we should come up with more pedagogically effective and affordable tech solutions. That’s what Class Saathi is about.

“Saathi” in Hindi means Companion. Our Class Saathi would serve as a companion for the students, a companion for the teachers and also for the principals making classroom learning more personalized, quantified and interactive. There are 250 million children in India, in the age group of 6-14 years in India. Of this, 97% go to school but they are not learning. Over 50% children in 5th standard cannot read and over 74% cannot do basic division. These numbers are alarming but we hope Class Saathi can help.

Can Class Saathi be used in classrooms?
Class Saathi can also be used by teachers in classrooms to conduct formative quizzing and to monitor the progress of students on a daily basis. However, classroom usage of Class Saathi requires each student to have a Saathi clicker (screen-free remote). The whole class can take the quiz together and data is collected in real time. Class Saathi has been proven to increase attendance and learning outcomes.
